Fleet Logistics Support Squadron

NAS North Island

Master Chief Collins is a native of Houston, Texas. He graduated from Kashmere Senior High School- Class of 1989; he completed Recruit Training in San Diego, CA in February 1990. Following boot camp, he attended Naval Aircrew School in Pensacola, FL, Aviation Electrician Mate “A” School in Millington, TN and C-2A Loadmaster School Norfolk, VA.

His first assignment was overseas at Fleet Logistics Support Squadron TWO FOUR Sigonella, Sicily where he participated in Operation PROVIDE COMFORT along with several detachments throughout the Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf. His follow-on assignment was to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron FOUR ZERO Norfolk, VA where he made two more Mediterranean and Arabian Gulf deployments in support of Operation PROVIDE COMFORT. His third tour of duty was Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily where he was promoted to Second Class Petty Officer. In 1998, he reported to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron ONE TWO ZERO Norfolk, VA for Instructor Duty and was promoted to First Class Petty Officer in 2001 during this tour.

Other tours of duty include Fleet Logistics Support Squadron THREE ZERO San Diego, CA where he made two deployments to Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM. He was advanced to Chief Petty Officer during this tour in September 2004. His next assignment was Fleet Readiness Center Southwest as the Test Line Leading Chief Petty Officer. Upon completion of that tour in 2008, he returned to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron THREE ZERO San Diego, CA where he made two more deployments to the Western Pacific and Arabian Gulf operating area and was promoted to Senior Chief. In 2011, he transferred to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron THREE San Diego, CA where he served as Quality Assurance Supervisor and Maintenance Control Supervisor and was advanced to Master Chief in 2014. His next assignment was to Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron SEVEN EIGHT San Diego, CA to serve as the Maintenance Master Chief and was selected to Command Master Chief during this tour. He assumed the duties as Command Master Chief for Fleet Logistics Support Squadron THREE ZERO San Diego, CA in May 2016.

Master Chief Collins completed Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 136 and Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat Capstone Course Class 157. Additionally, he completed his Primary PME, Senior NCO Joint PME. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards) and numerous unit and campaign awards.
