| What is an FRG?
An FRG is a Family Readiness Group. It is a command sponsored organization that consists of volunteers made up of the spouses and significant others of service members. Its purpose is to plan and conduct social, informational, and morale building activities to enhance family readiness. Basically speaking, it exists to help the Navy family meet the everyday challenges of the military lifestyle.
The FRG of VRC-30 is seeking volunteers to help us achieve and exceed the defined goals set out above! We want to be an integral part in the homecomings of our Detachments. We want to plan get togethers, picnics, and dinners with the families of our command. We plan on having monthly informational meetings with various speakers on subjects ranging from car care to Fleet and Family Services and the benefits they provide. We also would like to provide care packages to our sailors on deployment as a way to improve morale and stay connected with them while they are far from home.
As a new organization we need help setting up these wonderful activities! There are so many possibilities with a group like this. What great ideas do you have? If you have some and would like to participate, please contact us at (757) 469-8291.
